My name is Melissa Stark. Art has been a passion of mine since I was a child. My interest in art began by watching my grandmother oil paint large canvases in her home studio. This inspired me to begin art classes at the Massillon Museum, Canton Cultural Arts Center, and in other community art programs. My love for art grew stronger throughout my high school years. I became involved with the Art Honor Society and when I graduated I moved to Pittsburgh to attend The Art Institute, majoring in Visual Communications and minoring in Illustration. After graduation I worked as a Graphic Designer and Art Director over the next twenty years.

In 2010 I decided I wanted to share my love for the arts with children and become an Art Educator. Finishing up at Kent State University, College of Art, with my BFA in Art Education and working towards my Masters in Painting.

Teaching children and adults the studio production of art and the importance and impact art has in our world is the next step in my life.
